Odisha CEO lists ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for Candidates in 2019 Polls


Odisha News Hawk: Ahead of the 2019 elections in the State, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha Surendra Kumar holds all-party meeting in Bhubaneswar today.

The meeting was held to create awareness about the changes initiated in the election process. The meeting was attended by representatives of all political parties.

As model code of conduct now in force, discussion over the guidelines  to ‘Do’s And Don’ts’ for the candidates during election campaign held in the all-party meeting.

‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for Candidates:

  • Candidates will have to reveal IT-returns of 5 years
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) & publish details of their criminal records or cases registered against them through print & electronic media for a minimum of 3 times
  • 2 records of candidates’ poll expenses to be kept- one with candidates & other with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) during Elections
